Krannert Art Museum Highlights Oct. 24th - 31st.
Full Description:
BILL TRAYLOR, WILLIAM EDMONDSON, AND THE MODERNIST IMPULSE
Bill Traylor, a draftsman, and William Edmondson, a sculptor, created figurative works and simplified compositions that were informed by their surroundings and people they knew. The spontaneity and freshness of their works is likely the reason these self-taught artists were discovered by artists and photographers in the 1930s and 40s and brought to the attention of the modern art establishment. Exhibition runs October 22, 2004 through January 2, 2005.
OPENING RECEPTION, October 27, 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
GALLERY CONVERSATION, October 27, 3:00 - 5:00P.M.
