Krannert Art Museum joins museums around the world celebrating the centennial of DalÒ's birth. One of the most controversial artists of the 20th century, DalÒ is known for his surrealistic landscapes and distorted figures. This exhibition of work from the Museum's permanent collection examines DalÒ's fascination with literature and mythology.
STARS, STRIPES, SOUSA: CELEBRATING THE JOHN PHILIP SOUSA
SESQUICENTENNIAL

This special exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of Sousa's birth includes original
musical scores, photographs, and other artifacts from the Library of Congress, Smithsonian
Institution, and the U.S. Marine Band Library.

In connection with the BILL TRAYLOR, WILLIAM EDMONDSON, AND THE MODERNIST IMPULSE exhibition, storyteller Barbara Ann Porte will present a morning of stories inspired by the drawings of Bill Traylor. Porte is the author of Black Elephant with a Brown Ear (In Alabama). Her visit is co-sponsored in part by the Frances P. Rohlen Visiting Artists Fund/College of Fine and Applied Arts, Champaign Public Library, Urbana Free Library, and Champaign-Urbana Storytelling Guild
