OF BOOKS AND TALES: SALVADOR DALI AND THE WORLD OF IMAGINATION Open November 2 through February 13, 2005 Krannert Art Museum joins museums around the world celebrating the centennial of DalÒ's birth. One of the most controversial artists of the 20th century, DalÒ is known for his surrealistic landscapes and distorted figures. This exhibition of work from the Museum's permanent collection examines DalÒ's fascination with literature and mythology. STARS, STRIPES, SOUSA: CELEBRATING THE JOHN PHILIP SOUSA SESQUICENTENNIAL Open November 2 through November 28, 2004 This special exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of Sousa's birth includes original musical scores, photographs, and other artifacts from the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution, and the U.S. Marine Band Library.
