Kick-off the Mardi Gras weekend with Cajun & Creole Iron Post February 16

Full Description:

Cajun & Creole music by Dennis Stroughmatt & Friends at the Iron Post (downtown Urbana) - music from 9pm to Midnight. Dennis is a really talented fiddler and accordion player.  Though based in Illinois, he has lived and worked in Louisiana where he studied with some of the masters of Cajun & Creole music.  He's also well-versed with the historic roots of French fiddle music in "Upper Louisiana" as parts of Illinois and Missouri used to be called.  The snow & wind will blow in the meantime, but be ready for Friday because the music will be hot and the Iron Post will be featuring red beans & rice, jamabalaya and gumbo. The band line-up will be Dennis Stroughmatt on fiddle, accordion & vocals; Jennifer Stroughmatt on guitar, perscussion & vocals, Randy Cordle on guitar and Rob Krumm on bass.  We'll be playing a lot of traditional Cajun tunes, just right for celebrating Mardi Gras. for more on Dennis Stroughmatt, check out www.creolestomp.com.
