Full Description:
ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, participate in the ChicTech TechJunket!
The interactive lecture will be given by Professor Jeff Erickson on Voronoi diagrams. He graduated from UC-Berkeley with a PhD in CS. His current research focuses on computational topology—all about algorithms involving graphs embedded on surfaces.
On November 14, 2009 from 2PM to 4PM, meet us in the Siebel Center for Computer Science [201 North Goodwin Avenue (corner of Mathews and Stoughton), Urbana, IL 61801]. Light snacks will be provided. After all, what's a junket without some kind of treat?
JUNKET IS DEFINED AS
1) a dessert made from flavored milk and rennet.
2) a pleasure excursion: a party, banquet, or outing.
3) a trip or tour, especially to obtain information.
We're also issuing a challenge to you: solve the puzzles in the HIghTECH Newsletter and get entered into a raffle! Visit http://chictech.cs.uiuc.edu/ to access the newsletter and learn more about the event.
