The Afrikan-American Cultural Arts Program is proud to present this community, edutainment event commemorating the strength and courage of those Afrikans who, on June 19, 1865, upon learning of their freedom two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, broke into a spontaneous celebration of song, dance and prayer. Performances by Master Drummer, Manu Walton, formerly of Chicago's Muntu Dance Theater, Amira, AACAP youth and other local artists.
